Sarah's Regency Chemise

This was my first entirely hand-sewn historical garment. I used the Regency chemise pattern. I also used the e-pattern and printed it out, taped the paper pieces together and used the pattern from there!I used a 50/50 linen-cotton blend. I like the feel of well-worn/well-washed linen and wanted to see how it would wear over time. It was also my first experience hand-felling the seams and I am very pleased with how they turned out! Only next time I'm going to mark the right side out, because once the seams are flat-felled, it's very difficult to tell which side is which!Pardon me for not wearing it - it was a little too scandalous for me to model! :-) The 1st photo is with the neckline gathered using the drawstring. (I used a twisted cotton cording.) The 2nd photo is with the neckline ungathered. The 3rd photo is a close up of my hand-stitching, which improved greatly with this project!I did wear it once, and I was very pleased with how well it fit. I was worried about the drawstring and the chemise slipping, but it was actually quite nice!Thank you for a lovely pattern! I have plans to make another one out of cotton as a spare.Sarah
